National Livestock Policy, 2013
The National Livestock Policy, 2013 has been formulated to have a policy framework for improving productivity of the livestock sector in a sustainable manner, taking into account the provisions of the National Policy of Farmers, 2007 and the recommendations of the stakeholders, including the States. The National Livestock Policy aims at increasing livestock productivity and production in a sustainable manner, while protecting the environment, preserving animal bio-diversity, ensuring bio-security and farmers’ livelihood.
