Question raised in Lok Sabha on Vehicle Emission Standards, 06/12/2016. ARAI is one of the Test Agencies, notified under Rule 126 of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, for Type Approval Certification of vehicles as per the notified rules, standards and procedures. Procedure of Type approval certification of motor vehicles is in accordance with AIS: 017-2000, as amended from time to time. CMVR Compliance requirements are given in Chapter V (Rule 91 to Rule 126) of Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
