48 mining companies told to submit documents by June 8
PANJIM: Forty-eight mining companies on Wednesday were granted more time till June 8 by the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) to submit documents pertaining to extraction and environment clearances, failing which their licences would be suspended. These mining companies were issued show cause notices by GSPCB, last week for extracting ore beyond permissible limit and also to check the validity of environment clearance issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). The notices were issued following High Court order on a petition filed by the Goa Foundation (GF).
