New Delhi The group of ministers (GoM) on coal has approved conditional environment clearances to the Mahan and Chhatrasal coal mines projects. The projects would now go to the cabinet for final clearance. An environment panel has recommended that Tata Steel be allowed to expand its production from the Sukhinda chromite mines in Odisha, paving the way for the company to resume operations that were suspended in January.
