No plan to start Kalabagh dam project: Ashraf
Federal Water and Power Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that Kalabagh is a controversial dam and the government does not intend to start this project. Pepco claims partial success of energy conservation plan
The energy conservation drive by the Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) turned out to be a 'partial success' on its first day (Sunday), with 60 per cent markets across the province voluntarily closing by 9pm. Pepco officials called it an encouraging sign as all these markets pulled their shutters down on their own because neither the Labour Department nor the district administration was on duty on Sunday. Load-shedding persists

Now, Gurgaon monitors power use
The IT city now has an energy audit control room for close monitoring of power consumption, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) claims. With computers zooming in on consumption-related data, the control room is giving impetus to energy audit, for which electricity meters are being installed at all transformers, officials said on Tuesday. The meters are being relocated on poles in a phased manner, power department authorities said.
