PANJIM, OCT 13 The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has finally convened a special meeting on Wednesday 15th October to deliberate on the growing garbage crises irking the capital city. According to the agenda, the CCP members will deliberate on steps to be taken on disposal of garbage in the absence of a permanent waste management site.
The Government has approved the appointment of a committee to look into the problem of garbage collection in the Dehiwala - Mount Lavinia MC limits.

Chennai, THE Madras High Court on Tuesday directed the Chennai Corporation to ensure that no solid waste was dumped in the Pallikaranai marshland. The First Bench comprising Chief Justice A K Ganguly and Justice F M Ibrahim Kalifulla granted the injunction while passing interim orders on a public interest writ petition of California Software Company Limited.
