Desi swine flu vaccine ready for commercial use by April-May
New Delhi:Pune-based Serum India’s swine flu vaccine ‘Fluvac’ will be ready for commercial use by April-May, subject to all regulatory clearances. The Pune-based company received the drug regulators go-ahead on March 5 to carry out advanced safety tests on the vaccine —Phase II/III clinical trials crucial for its introduction in the market.

H1N1 vaccine: Phases II, III human trials begin today

Govt go-ahead to 3 suspended labs for vaccine production
New Delhi: Vaccine production will resume at three of India’s oldest vaccine manufacturing units.
In a major turnaround, the Union health ministry on February 26 gave the three units — BCG Vaccine Laboratory (Chennai), Pasteur Institute of India (Coonoor) and the Central Research Institute (Kasauli) — a full fledged go ahead to start manufacturing vaccines once again.
