11 municipalities finally acquire sites to treat waste
Of the thirteen municipal councils, 11 municipalities have finally acquired sites for setting up facilities for treatment of garbage. Valpoi and Mapusa which have not been able acquire sites within the stipulated time need to complete the task of acquiring sites and setting up facilities for treating garbage within next six months.

Forest cadre postings for Goa upgraded
In what could be a fillip to the State forestry, the Central Government has upgraded the forest cadre postings for Goa and enhancing the number of posts as well. An Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) and a team of 11 officials will now lead the State forestry. Presently a Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) and a team of eight officials lead the State forestry.

Santa Cruz weeds out anomalies, finalises draft RP with VP2 status
After weeding out the anomalies, the Santa Cruz Panchayat, on Tuesday, finalised the draft RP 2021, prepared by the special committee, with a recommendation for VP2 status for the village. However, to take care of the housing needs of the villagers with limited budget to buy land, the panel also recommended that plots admeasuring 350 square metres and less be allowed to use 80% FAR.
