MAYEM, MARCH 28 The Government has sanctioned a grant of Rs 35 lakh to Bicholim Muncipal Council (BMC), to purchase space for the disposal of garbage at Lakherim in Bordem-Bicholim. Speaking to reporters, BMC Mayor Satish Gaonkar stated that the garbage disposal site selected by BMC belongs to Bordem Comunidade.
PANJIM, MARCH 28 The North District Administration has flagged down cruise boat operations along River Mandovi for alleged noise pollution and has curtailed use of sound permits to a weekly basis. Additional Collector Swapnil Naik disclosed that a monitoring station is being set up near Miramar where sound decibels would be checked and erring operators intercepted for violations.
