This study has been undertaken to assess the impact of effluents released by the APOL (Assam Polyester Co-operative Society Limited), textile mill Rangia in the district of Kamrup, Assam on the quality of drinking water in the neighbouring areas. The effluent of the mill is discharged into the agricultural land on the western side of the mill. Water samples from drinking water sources used by the households in the surroundings of the mill are taken up for monitoring and analysis in this work.
