The management of biomedical waste in health centres, clinics and hospitals is gaining importance in recent times, since it has a lot of hazards and impacts on people and environment. In this study, an attempt has been made to categorize, to quantify and to characterize the biomedical waste (BMW) generated in a health centre functioning in an educational institution for the students, staff, workers of hostel and canteen.
