Having an ISO-14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) will help enhance a firm's economic performance and at the same time improves its environmental performance. The benefits of ISO-14001 lie in cost savings through energy consumption, raw material input, waste management, environmental impact reversal as well as an improved public image. An attempt has been made to study, the ISO-14001 certification of a common effluent treatment plant (CETP) of an industrial area at Sangaria in Jodhpur. Site visits have been carried out regularly to study the manufacturing processes of the effluent treatment system of the origination.
