No extensive study has been made in the context of Indian Iron and Steel Industries attempting to measure the intensity of industrial pollution in the field of environmental management and to identify the different environmental indicators for making the units proactive. Now-a-days, the Indian steel manufacturers are mainly facing some major industrial pollution related problems with increasing level of particulate matter, sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide etc.
