Agricultural practices, which add heavy metals to the soil, include indiscriminate use of fertilizers through chemical farming and plant protection chemicals. However organic farming is a production system to produce chemical free nutritious food of high quality. Organic farming is a production system, which avoids or largely excludes the use of synthetically manufactured fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators and live stock additives. Keeping this in view, a study was initiated to monitor the effect of chemical fertilization on heavy metal concentration in soils in relation to integrated and organic fertilization.
