Grid-interactive solar power plant in Gujarat

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, recently announced a Generation Based Incentive (GBI) scheme for grid connected wind and solar projects under which each state has been granted a maximum of 10 MW power capacity from solar power plants, with a ceiling of 5 MW per company. As a diversified plan, Euro Solar Power (P) Limited, a 100% owned subsidiary company of India's ceramic giant Euro Ceramics Limited, recently won an assignment from the Gujarat government to set up a grid-interactive power plant of 5 MW peak capacity based on solar photovoltaic (PV) technology.
