Post project evaluation of Raipur Rani watershed implemented under NWDPRA programme in Haryana

National Watershed Development Programme for Rainfed Areas (NWDPRA) was taken up in a Shivalik foot hill watershed of Haryana, namely, Raipur Rani in Haryana during the XI five year plan. The Central Soil and Water Conservation Research and Training Institute, Research Centre Chandigarh conducted impact evaluation of the NWDPRA programme during 2005. It was brought out that cropped area during Kharif and Rabi season increased by 3.2% and 35.6% respectively. The produtivity of crops shot up, ranging from 4.1 to 28.1% in the two seasons, respectively. Consequently, agricultural production from the area increased.
