Status of marine environment of the coast of Kollam, Southern Kerala Coast of India

Studies on the marine environment of the Kollam coast, south-west coast of India were carried out from June 2006 to May 2008 incorporating variations from pre-monsoon through monsoon to post-monsoon. The parameters studied were surface water temperature, pH, salinity, DO, turbidity, petroleum hydrocarbon content, the nutrients, namely inorganic nitrate, inorganic phosphate and inorganic silcate, the biological parameters, total coliforms and E.coli.
