Pedestrian spaces are becoming increasingly rare nowadays. The explosive increase in vehicular traffic has relegated the pedestrian to subways and over bridges. The Indian Roads Congress (IRC) has stipulated standards for pedestrian facilities. This research paper presents a report of the existing status of pedestrian facilities in the area under consideration and its analysis from a qualitative point of view, underpinning it with a study of various standards which could be used for the design of pedestrian facilities.
