The objective of this paper is to provide an overview of globalisation and its discontents at a macro level in terms of weakening of the sovereign nation-state, deregulation, liberalisation, privatisation and marketisation. Second, the author would present the grand narrative of 'Dominant Development Discourse' (DDD) with its perceptions and priorities, vision and model, especially in the context of India. Third, the author would analyse as to why the marginalised people protest in their everyday life.
