Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. Gugan @ Muban, Rashid & various other Noticees dated 11/01/2017 regarding illegal mining especially states of Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.

In the Order Environmental compensation for carrying out illegal mining is directed to be paid as follows:

a) wherever there is a tractor or a trolley, the compensation payable would be Rs. 50,000/-(for each vehicle).

b) Where there is a truck or such heavy vehicle, environmental compensation payable would be Rs. 1 lakh (for each vehicle).

c) Where the mining have been carried out by JCB and they were seized, the environmental compensation payable would be Rs. 1.5 lakhs (for each vehicle).
