About 1,148 registered small scale industries (SSIs) were closed in Orissa between 2003 and 2008. Four medium scale industries, assisted by the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Orissa Limited (IPICOL), were closed during this period. In Sundergarh district about 326 registered SSI units were closed. The employment generated by these closed units were 11,050. Four medium scale industries that were closed includes Radiant Telesystems (Mancheswar Industrial Estate), Lovely Agro-foods ( Balgopalpur Industrial Estate), Bhiwaniwalla Jute Fibers private Ltd (Nachhipur, Cuttack) and Delite Cotgin Private Ltd (Nawarangpur).
