The Haryana Forest Department will bring over 12,600 hectares under afforestation under the "Samanvit Gram Vanikaran Samridhi Yojana" during the 10th Five Year Plan. In order to promote afforestation, the department has also decided to honour a village panchayat, which makes significant contribution to the plantation drive, with the "Best Plantation Award".
