The Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government has forwarded a fresh draft of guidelines to the Delhi Government for regularisation of the 1,432 unauthorised colonies in the Capital, clearly stating that the process would require a fee to be paid. In other words, people residing in these colonies will end up paying higher penalties and other charges for violation of land use and building by-laws. The Ministry of Urban Development has forwarded the draft guideline to Lieutenant Governor BL Joshi, who sent it to the Delhi Government's Urban Development department for comments.
