1.5 tmc ft water from Maharastra sought

Water Resources Minister H K Patil today said that the Karnataka State government has sent a fax to Maharastra State to release 1.5 tmc ft of water to Karnataka, in accordance with the agreement between the two states for releasing four tmc ft of water annually to the State, at the time of construction of the Kallambawadi project. In an informal chat with presspersons in Hubli after participating in a function organised by Hubli Bar Association, he said as per the agreement, the State had given Rs 33 crore towards that project.
