Due to the incessant rain since the last few days under Demow Circle Office in Bokota Mouza the water level of Desang and Deroi has increased and around 17 villages have been highly affected by floods. Due to the rise in the water level of the Desang and Deroi rivers, 17 villages like Khamun, Khanikar, Ekoratoli, Prembari, Konwar, Sensua, Du Khamun, Fekelanihabi, Deoriting, Chuladhara, Holongoni, Dumai Chuk, Betboria Chuk, Hilikhaguri, Bakhar Begena, Jobalating and Gowala Chuk have been affected. People as well as domestic animals are shifting to safer places. The flood-hit families alleged that they did not get any flood relief from the State Government. Moreover, there are no health facilities for the flood-hit families in the area.
