Over 176 trees were razed on a land adjoining the Avantika district park in Rohini in New Delhi a fortnight ago. The police got wind of the incident after the DDA's horticulture department filed a complaint. No FIR has been registered yet. Residents alleged that some politicians were involved in the razing. DDA officials refused to disclose the identity of the those involved.
