1,819 dengue cases reported in Haryana

A total of 1,819 dengue cases have been reported in Haryana while three confirmed death cases are reported, one each from district Ambala, Panchkula and Sirsa. Haryana Director Health Services (Malaria), Dr Parveen Garg on Wednesday said there is no cause of panic. Addressing a press conference at Panchkula, he said that 220 dengue confirmed cases are still admitted in 130 Government institutions and 90 in private institutions while 1468 cases have been discharged after getting cured. He said that some dengue cases are not required to be admitted in hospitals, depending upon patient’s health indicators and may be treated in OPD. Dr Garg added that daily stock of dengue situation is being taken at each level and all preventive and control measures are in place. Isolation wards have been kept reserved for dengue patients. Free diagnosis of dengue is available in government institutions in all the districts and private labs have also been instructed not to charge more than Rs600 for diagnosis of a confirmed dengue case as per Government of India guidelines i.e. ELISA based NS1 and IgM test.
