190 trees lost to road expansion project

: Despite the fact that the provincial capital is in grip of pollution, the forest department has started cutting hundreds of valuable trees on both sides of the Warsak road.
During a visit to the site, a group of officials of the forest department, supervising the cutting of trees, claimed that they were following directives of Speaker NWFP Assembly Kiramatullah Khan Chagharmati, who wanted expansion of the road.
About the number of trees, the officials said that 194 trees of various species had been approved to be cut up to Darmangi village. An official of the forest department said that the trees were grown up with decades
