Around 200 trees, comprising kindal, matti, cashew and other variety, were allegedly cut down from private and forest land at Tamnemol-Monem, Cotigao, in Canacona taluka of Goa. The whole exercise of cutting down the trees was done clandestinely allegedly to make the way for the construction of a road.
