First Mayor Sanjeev Naik shared some good news for residents of Vashi as finally the dry Morbe dam water pipelines laid by NMMC between Kalamboli and Vashi supply water to the city. The pipeline was inaugurated recently at the hands of Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. While the residents were living over the edge with the problem of acute water shortage, there finally will be major relief . During a party worker's event, first mayor Sanjeev Naik shared with brought relief to many when he informed that the Morbe Dam water pipelines laid down from Kalamboli to Vashi would be operational soon. While this will completely eliminate the issue of water shortage from Kalamboli to Vashi, in another months time, the pipelines till Digha would be also connected. The corporation receives 110 MLD water from Morbe Dam and through this new installtion, the city will get more 50-75 MLD water. Navi Mumbai has never faced water crisis like the one it faces today. It can be termed as the worst in the city's history. Hopefully this time round, the NMMC administration will keep its word and not fail the tax payers again Earlier, women of Vashi gheraod the Vashi Ward Office over the water crisis that has gone from bad to worse. When the message reached the NMMC Standing Committee meet officers assured 24 hours water supply. Along with Prakash Mate, the women took out a protest rally to the Vashi ward office where women gheraod the Ward Officer Balkrishna Patil. At the same time, the standing committee meet was underway at NMMC. Hearing about the situation at Vashi, Chairman Sandeep Naik instructed Water Supply Executive Engineer to speak to the office. Later, the nodal water supply engineer informed that Vashi will get water supply 24 hours.
