27 pc increase in plan outlay for Kodagu dist

There is an increase of 27 per cent in the plan outlay of Rs 1,326 crore announced for Kodagu district for the year 2010-11.
The credit plan was launched at the district-level review meeting held here on Wednesday. Like every year, this year also credit plan gives emphasis to agriculture sector. A sum of 985 crore has been earmarked for agriculture. The credit plan was released by Zilla Panchayat CEO Mirja Akbarulla.
The priority sector credit with an outlay of Rs 1,182 crore constitute 89 per cent of the plan, said Lead Bank Manager G Arunachala Sharma. Out of which agriculture gets a major share of Rs 985 crore which constitute 74 per cent of the plan. As per the direction of Central government and Reserve Bank of India, additional 30 per cent has been earmarked for agriculture sector.
In 2010-11, the outlay for industry is Rs 15 crore. This is an increase by 18 per cent compared to last year.
The district has 133 branches of 21 banks. The credit has been distributed among three taluks viz Madikeri taluk
