27 students fall ill after midday meal

April 22: At least 27 students of a senior secondary school in south Delhi were admitted to a hospital on Wednesday after they complained of uneasiness and pain. The students had consumed school-provided midday meal that was allegedly prepared under unhygienic conditions, which resulted in food poisoning. The police has registered a case against unknown persons in the matter. The police said the incident took place at Baba Nebraj Senior Secondary School in south Delhi's Jal Vihar area of Lajpat Nagar-1. The food items were sent for testing.
