Kolkata, June 28 The RPG Enterprises flagship CESC Ltd, Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Infrastructure Ltd and Mumbai-based Glodyne Technoserve Ltd are in the race to be franchise power distributor in Patna.
The technical bids for power distribution were opened earlier this month. Financial bids are expected to be opened on June 30, according to Mr Swapan Mukherjee, Chairman, Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB).
Earlier this year, Bihar had invited bids for franchise power distributors in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur circles. As per the bid regulation, the contenders for Patna were required to bid for at least one additional circle out of the residual three.
While Reliance Infra bid for all four circles, CESC bid for Patna and Muzaffarpur. Glodyne bid for Patna and Gaya.
Of the four circles, Patna and Gaya received three bids each. Financial bids for both the circles may be opened on June 30.
Apart from Reliance Infra and Glodyne, Enzen Global is the third contender for Gaya.
The last date for receiving bids for Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur circles was extended to June 30, due to inadequate response.
Muzaffarpur received two bids (CESC and Reliance Infra) and Reliance Infra is the sole bidder for Bhagalpur.
