Developers of the University of Virginia's research park are saving and transplanting 3,000 trees, some, five-storey tall, rather than cutting them and burning the debris. The trees, 106 of which rise 50 to 60 feet, are being replanted along the main road through the 532 acre reseach park near the Rivana river and the Charlottesville airport. The foundation is keen to make the research part a model of eco-sensitive development.
