Thirty-five European states have signed an intenational agreement to combat water-borne diseases and improve the quality of drinking water throughout Europe. The agreement, negotiated by the World Health Organisaton, commits countries to ensure adequate sanitation and safe drinking water, protect water resources, and implement monitoring of water standards.
