Acting on a Delhi High Court order, the Delhi Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, in a joint operation, removed 200 jhuggies and encroachments from Mohan Co-operative Industrial Estates in Sarita Vihar, South Delhi. The drive took place in B1 and B2 extension areas of the society. The Court had on March 5 directed the civic bodies to ensure that all jhuggies were cleared by March 13. The SHO Badarpur had been directed to render all assistance and to also ensure that further encroachments do not take place.
