Eighty-one Delhi government buildings are harvesting rain water this monsoon. The harvested water will come in handy the next summer. According to Delhi government, a cross-section of buildings--from schools and offices to fire stations have been chosen to implement the water harvesting project. However, work is still going on in several premises, including 36 fire stations in the Capital, to construct water harvesting structures. Since the buildings are directly owned by the Delhi government there are no procedural hassles that prevent the quick completion of the projects. It is therefore surprising that work has been completed in just one out of the fire stations in the Capital.
