Oppossing the Delhi High Court order that building bylaws are applicable in Lal Dora areas as well and that MCD should demolish unauthorised constructions there, villagers from over 360 rural villages all over Delhi have decided to go on a dharna and hunger strike beginning February 5. In a Mahapanchayat, called by the Gramin Vikas Panchayat at Hauz Khas village today, representatives from the villages decided that if the Delhi government does not resolve the issue with the High Court by February 5, nearly 40,000 villagers would stage a dharna at Gandhi Samadhi.
