51st Hydro product committee meeting of BHEL, Bhopal held the other day. Executive Director, RK Singh in his inaugural address forcing on production of high capacity hydro set and seeing the demand of electricity in the year 2007-08 said that in coming days 250mw and more high capacity set would be required in northern area and we would have to ready for the same. He told that BHEL would have to increase its capacity for taking civil work with project with the help of computer networking. On this occasion the Chairman, HPC and GM(hydro),MK Dubey in his address said that country's production is 36674mw and BHEL contributes only 16971mw at present which is 47 per cent of total production of the country. Now the capacity of BHEL has increased up to 25000mw and we would implement it during 11th five year plan. We would have to think deeply to complete our project in due course. GM(EM), R Krishnan addressing the meeting said that due to the tough competition lack in cost, delivery on time and development of advanced technology and automation of design is must. Senior officers of BHEL Haridwar, Banglore, R&D Hyderabad, Power Sector IO, PMG, Hydro Marketing, Spares and Services group and Hydro division BHEL, Bhopal were present in the meeting. AGM(HSS) , Arun Manglik welcomed the present members and AGM(HSS) , JP Pathak extended thanks in the meeting.
