Dileep Singh Bhuria, chairman of Scheduled Areas and Scheduled Tribes Commission, said that the Centre had allotted 7,693 hectares of forest land to Kerala State Government for distribution to landless tribals. The State Government had assured the commission that the process of distribution was in progress. It was for the State Government to ensure that the land was not taken away from tribals.
