8,000ha still ablaze in Sabah, says police chief

More than 8,000ha of forest and bushfires are still raging in Sabah where 1,311 firemen as well as police and army personnel are trying to combat the blazes. Sabah Police Commissioner Amir Junos said yesterday that about 80% or 32,000ha of forest and bushfires in the state have been contained. Amir, operation commander on wildfires, said the forest and bushfires were in nine areas.
