Deputy Conservator of Forests,Karnataka, A M Annaiah has said that 95 people who had allegedly encroached forest land had been served notices to vacate them immediately.Speaking to the press here today he said a chargesheet of 129 instances of encroachment, involving 1,218 acres of land had been submitted to the courts in Chikmagalur and Moodabidri. A total of 647 instances of forest encroachment involving 4,765 acres of land had been booked so far, out of which coffee planters had encroached 3,870 acres, and the rest of 895 acres by other cultivators, he added.
