Coming to Haryana, the State has a natural habitat for growing very rare and wild medicinal plants on the Shivalik hills and hilly tracks which provides different combinations of minerals in the soil. Right from Kalesar to Kalka, thousands of medicinal plant species are found growing in the wild. Having realised that a small impetus for promoting the herbs growth, habitat and environment could result in biodiversity conservation, the Deputy Commissioner of Yamunanagar, Mrs. Surina Rajan, IAS, said she had envisaged the setting up of a Herbal Garden which has now come up in the serene environment of 'Adibari Temple' at Kathgarh in the Bilaspur Block. It has been linked with the ongoing Kandi Project which is reclaiming barren land in the region and ensuring in-situ soil and moisture conservation.
