The fires ravaging US forests have stirred up discontent with the government. The fires have been called the worst in 70 years and have forced more than 1,000 people from their homes along the rugged terrain. Forestry officials estimate about 65 wildfires have erupted, the most severe in Idaho and Montana, where patches of parched forest needed only a strike of lightning to flare up.
