Re-development Plan Has Curious Shapes For Commercial Plots Without Margin Space, Inspired From European Models
Paul John | TNN
Ahmedabad: Take a cursory glance at the re-development plan prepared for the riverfront and you will be taken aback by the curious shapes of commercial plots to be put on sale. These shapes are to ensure a definite skyline and shapes of buildings which will come up along the riverfront.
SRFDCL sources confirm that a new development control regulation (DCR) customised for the riverfront has already been submitted to the state government along with foot print of the buildings. This set of regulations will be different from the one existing for the city.
The saleable built-up area on the riverfront will be calculated as a multiple of the area of the footprint and the number of floors assigned to each of the plot shape. The concept of margin space will be completely eliminated from the design as there will be no compound walls encircling the buildings
