A court in Gujarat today issued bailable warrants against Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, director Ashutosh Gowariker and four others for filming chinkara, an animal protected under the Wildlife Act, in the Bollywood movie "Lagaan'. Commercial shooting of chinkara is banned under the Wildlife (Protection) Act. A Chinkara, a Schedule I animal under the Act, was filmed in the 2001 superhit movie which was shot in Kutch district of Gujarat. Chief Juidicial Magistrate of Bhuj asked all the five to appear on April 15. The Gujarat Forest Departmentr had filed an FIR in the court against Aamir and others.
