AG warns agains drawing water released for Ganga

After failing to ensure sufficiently clean water in the river Ganga for the first bathing of the Ardha Kumbha 2007, the Uttar Pradesh government initiated corrective measures. Advocate Gerneral SMA Kazmi, who has to face the High Court judges when the case comes up for hearing,issued strict insturctions that the water being released from Narora for the Ardha Kumbha was not to be lifted by the canals. Kami expressed surprise that the additional water released from Narora did not reach Allahabad. An inquiry has been instituted to find out the persns who had drawn the additional water. They will be punished severely.
