Diesel ban unwise : The automobile industry has strongly opposed the Environmental Pollution Control Authority's recommendation to ban non-commercial diesel vehicles in Delhi and has prepared a submision for the Supreme Court which seeks an integrated approach to vehicular pollution. A ban would prevent the development of clean diesel engine technologies and hurt manufacturers that have invested several crores of rupees in production of diesel vehicles. the Association of Indian Automobile Manufactueres (AIAM) has said on behalf of the industry in response to EPCA's fourth and fifth reports.
