In a bid to bail out car manufacturers , especially Maruti Udyog Ltd, the Association of Indian Automobiles Manufacturers (AIAM) has asked for a grace period to implement the new emission norms in the national capital region (NCR). AIAM, in its petition to the Supreme Court, has pleaded for the implementation of Euro-I emission norms by November 1999 and Euro II by November 2000.
