Air pollution on rise

Air pollution has been a cause of major concern to the residents of the state capital as pollution limits have crossed the prescribed standards of the World Health Organisation (WHO). Vehicles both two wheelers and four wheelers which have registered a four fold increase in the city during the 1990's have been emiting toxic wastes like in the metro cities in the country making life miserable for the residents. According to studies carried out by the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board Bhopal and Indore cities show greater pollutants in air that the prescribed limit by the WHO.
